Laser Hair Removal: Arms

  • Laser performed by doctors

Why choose laser hair removal for the arms?

Laser hair removal for the arms provides a permanent reduction in hair growth in just a few sessions. It is suitable for both women and men who wish to permanently rid themselves of hair on their arms, whether fine or thick.

Unlike waxing or shaving, the laser targets the hair follicle deeply, significantly reducing regrowth and preventing ingrown hairs.

Treated areas during laser hair removal for the arms

  • Full arms (from shoulders to wrists)
  • Forearms only
  • Upper arms
  • Elbow area and back of the arms

Procedure for a session

Before the first session, a preliminary consultation is conducted to determine your skin type, ensure there are no contraindications, and establish an appropriate protocol.

  1. Shaving the arms 24 to 48 hours before the session
  2. Protection for sensitive areas and eyes
  3. Passing the laser over the entire area to be treated
  4. Application of a soothing cream after the session

Number of sessions required

On average, 6 to 10 sessions spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart are necessary for optimal hair reduction. Annual maintenance sessions may be recommended.

Is it painful?

The treatment may cause a tingling or warming sensation. However, state-of-the-art lasers (such as Alexandrite or Nd:YAG with a cooling system) make the hair removal process well tolerated, even on larger areas like the arms.

Precautions before and after the session

  • Avoid tanning 4 weeks before and after the session
  • Do not wax or pluck before sessions
  • Apply a moisturising cream in the following days
  • Protect the treated area from the sun with a total sunscreen

Prices for laser hair removal of the arms

  • Forearms: €125 / session
  • Full arms: €250 / session

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a session last?

The duration of a session depends on the surface area to be treated. For forearms only, it takes about 15 to 20 minutes. For full arms, a session lasts approximately 30 minutes. The treatment is quick, non-invasive, and requires no recovery time.

Does the treatment work on light or blonde hair?

The laser targets melanin, the pigment present in the hair. Therefore, the darker the hair, the more effective the treatment. Very light blonde, red, or white hairs contain little to no melanin and do not respond well to the laser. A personalised diagnosis during the consultation will determine if laser hair removal is suitable for your hair type.

Can you exercise after the session?

It is best to avoid intense physical activities for 24 to 48 hours following the session. Sweating may cause irritation or a warming sensation on the treated area. It is also advisable to wear loose clothing to avoid rubbing against the freshly treated skin.

At what age can one undergo laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal is generally recommended from the age of 18 when the hair system is stabilised. In some cases (excessive hairiness, significant discomfort), it may be considered earlier with parental consent and medical advice. A prior evaluation is essential before any treatment for minors.

What are the possible side effects?

Side effects are rare and usually mild: redness, a warming sensation, slight swelling around the follicles (pseudo-folliculitis), or, less frequently, small crusts. These signs disappear spontaneously within a few hours to a few days. A soothing and hydrating cream is systematically applied after the session to minimise discomfort.
