Scar Treatment
After local anaesthesia, the doctor uses the handpiece to treat the scar for 15 minutes to an hour, possibly revisiting the area. The skin heats up and takes on a tanned appearance at the end of the session.

Quasi painless treatment
You have scars, burns, acne… The skin can sometimes endure numerous aggressions and traumas over the years. These assaults leave behind red marks, some of which are raised or sunken. These scars can cause complexes. Depending on the traumas it has experienced, the skin may take a significant amount of time to fully regenerate. Some skin types heal quickly, while others take longer.
There are also several types of scars that require different treatment approaches:
– Atrophic (sunken)
– Hypertrophic
– Keloidal (raised)
– Hyperpigmented or hypopigmented
At the centre, we have solutions.

WHICH LASERS?
The centre is equipped with 4 lasers to address various indications:
- The Erbium Yag Juliet laser, which allows for skin resurfacing, thus reducing scars with its 2940 nm wavelength.
- The Vbeam pulsed dye laser, which targets red scars
- The Revlite Q-switch for small scars
- The Morpheus, fractional radiofrequency mainly for acne scars and recent stretch marks.
- The Aerolase laser, which addresses the pigmentary, vascular, and tension components of the skin.
All these lasers allow for a progressive improvement in the appearance of the skin.

HOW MANY SESSIONS?
Treatment may require several sessions.
Sessions are spaced 1 to 2 months apart. A complete avoidance of sun exposure is necessary to prevent rebound pigmentation.
With this comprehensive range of lasers, we can treat nearly all types of scars. Depending on the desired outcome, these scars will need to be treated with varying degrees of power. Therefore, higher power settings may necessitate more significant social distancing after the treatment.
Of course, all of this will be decided in conjunction with the patient.
It is also important to understand (as we strive not to sell dreams at the centre) that the improvement of the scar largely depends on your skin's ability to heal.

WHO PERFORMS THESE SESSIONS?
Laser sessions are carried out exclusively by doctors specialised in laser treatment.
IS IT PAINFUL?
In the vast majority of cases, the treatment will be almost painless. If a deeper treatment is anticipated, the doctor will prescribe a healing cream for you.
Our patient Marion's opinion:
“My experience with laser treatment for acne scars”
For several years now, I have been suffering from acne scars on my face. It has become a source of deep insecurity for me. This led me to several sessions with a psychologist because I was so ashamed to show myself in public. I could no longer bring myself to wear makeup. My skin seemed coarse and dirty to me.
And even though my boyfriend, family, and friends never commented on it, I could no longer bear to look at myself in the mirror. I was the only one who could see them. It just goes to show that when you have an insecurity, that’s all you can see.
I took the plunge, and I am incredibly happy with the result, as in just 2 weeks, my scars have diminished (...).”

IMPORTANT TO KNOW:
It is crucial to understand that the success in diminishing the scar will largely depend on your skin's ability to respond to the treatment.
