Blepharoplasty (PLEXR)
The Plexr is a medical blepharoplasty technique that involves removing excess skin without resorting to surgery. This new procedure offers advantages over surgery in terms of recovery following the treatment.
-
An interesting alternative to surgery
-
1 to 4 sessions for an optimal result
When the eyelid becomes droopy, one quickly looks tired. While the radical solution remains blepharoplasty, a new non-surgical method has just emerged to our great delight, called Plexr.
For many women, the drooping eyelid that inevitably settles with time is a sign of ageing to combat. The gaze becomes heavier and sadder. While for some women, this may impart a somewhat nonchalant style, most of you would happily do without this excess eyelid.
Plexr is a non-invasive medical blepharoplasty technique that involves removing excess skin without resorting to "surgery". This new procedure presents undeniable advantages.
This solution, which originates from Italy and is loved by women, is an ideal option for safely regaining a fresh-looking gaze. A beautiful alternative to eyelid surgery, which can sometimes seem heavy and have significant consequences if "botched". No scalpel or hospitalisation. Only benefits!!!
PLEX’R (for Plasma Exeresis) involves tightening the eyelid by creating multiple anchoring points that will remove excess skin and its withered appearance. The anchoring points are tiny heat spots the size of a pinhead created by an electric arc (plasma arc). This leads to a skin retraction phenomenon from these micropoints. Results obtained in 1 to 4 sessions (averaging 2 to 3 sessions, depending on the eyelid's excess skin) are lasting and never alter the shape of the eye. The gaze becomes more open and brighter, and the skin smoother.
THE TECHNIQUE
The term PLEXR comes from the contraction of plasma exeresis. The technique involves generating a quantity of energy that allows for the sublimation of the treated surface. Sublimation refers to the transition from a solid state (skin) to a gaseous state. The excess treated skin will be eliminated and evaporated.

The PLEXR treatment acts on the surface, without reflection and without heat transfer to the underlying tissues (no impact on the eyes). During the session, the applicator is positioned 1 mm from the skin, creating an electric arc that induces this tissue destruction.
There is no contact with the skin. Each PLEXR impact forms a crust ending with a retraction of the skin during the healing process.
The impacts last no more than a second and are placed side by side in a staggered pattern. The treatment is conducted on folds and excess skin. PLEXR allows for localized and precise treatment.
WHO IS IT FOR?
For patients presenting with sagging upper eyelids who do not wish to undergo surgery.
Seen through the eyes of one of our patients:
I tested Plexr a year ago.
I felt that my eyelids were starting to droop, giving me quite a sad look, but I didn’t want to go through surgery. I found this method, which is relatively painless, gave me a real refresh and a genuinely more open gaze. I recommend it without hesitation.
The session lasts 20 minutes and is fairly painless. You may feel a few tingles, but this is very slight thanks to the application of anaesthetic cream.
You leave with numerous small dark spots along the eyelid, and it's best to avoid attending any gala events that evening. The small spots will turn into crusts (which will fall off on their own after 7 days) that can easily be covered with foundation.
The skin should be protected from the sun for about a month after the session. A second session can be scheduled a month later.

BY WHOM?
The Plexr is a medical technique performed by the laser doctors at the centre.
View from the laser doctor: The PLEXR treatment works on the surface, without reflection and without heat transfer to the underlying tissues (no impact on the eyes). During the session, the applicator is positioned 1 mm from the skin, creating an electric arc that causes tissue destruction.
There is no contact with the skin. Each PLEXR impact forms a crust that ends with skin retraction during the healing process.
The shots last no longer than a second and are placed side by side in a staggered pattern. The treatment is done on folds and excess skin. PLEXR allows for a localised and precise treatment.
INDICATIONS
Sagging of the upper eyelid
PROTOCOL
Depending on the degree of sagging of the eyelid, we recommend 1 to 4 sessions. These sessions are spaced one and a half months apart.
If the eyelid is too saggy, we direct our patients to a plastic surgery service.

SESSION PROCEEDINGS
Preparation of the skin with EMLA anaesthetic cream 1 hour before the treatment.
Session carried out by a doctor.
Application of a healing cream at the end of the treatment. To continue at home.
PRECAUTIONS
Total sun avoidance 1 month before and 1 month after the treatment.
The small crusts (which can be concealed with foundation) disappear within 3 to 7 days. A post-treatment swelling should be expected to last around 3 days. Sun protection is mandatory after the session.
RESULTS
Results can be seen from the first session, but it will take one to two months to observe the final results.
Sophie’s opinion : I tried Plexr a year ago. I felt that I was starting to have a drooping eyelid, which made me look a bit sad, but I didn't want to resort to surgery. I found this method, quite painless, had given me a real boost and made my eyes look much more open. I would recommend it without hesitation. The session lasted 20 minutes and was fairly painless. I could feel slight tingling, but it was very minimal thanks to the application of anaesthetic cream applied an hour before my arrival at the Centre.
I left with lots of little dark spots along the eyelid, and I avoided going to a gala that same night. The little spots will turn into crusts (which will fall off on their own after 7 days) for my part. I easily concealed them with a slightly covering foundation.
One piece of advice I noted: Your skin must be protected from the sun for about a month after the session. A second session can be scheduled a month later.
Honestly, I am quite a coward, and this alternative is extremely suitable for me. I would not hesitate to do it again, as I was completely satisfied. My eyes have reopened, and my family hasn't noticed anything, but they regularly tell me that I have a rested face. Mission accomplished!
