Blepharoplasty (PLEXR)
The Plexr is a medical blepharoplasty technique that involves removing excess skin without resorting to surgery. This new procedure offers advantages over surgery in terms of recovery following the treatment.
-
An interesting alternative to surgery
-
1 to 4 sessions for an optimal result
When the eyelid becomes droopy, it can quickly give you a tired appearance. While the radical solution remains blepharoplasty, a new non-surgical method has recently emerged for our delight called Plexr.
For many women, the drooping eyelid that gradually sets in over time is an inevitable sign of aging to combat. The gaze becomes heavier and sadder. While for some women this can lend a certain laid-back style, most of you would prefer to do without this excess eyelid.
Plexr is a non-invasive medical blepharoplasty technique that involves removing excess skin without resorting to "surgery." This new process offers undeniable advantages.
This solution, which originates from Italy and is adored by women, is an ideal option to safely regain a fresh look. A beautiful alternative to eyelid surgery, which can sometimes seem heavy and carry consequences if "botched". No scalpel or hospitalisation. Just benefits!
PLEX’R (for Plasma Excision) works by tightening the eyelid by creating multiple anchor points that will remove the excess skin and its wilted appearance. The anchor points are tiny thermal spots the size of a pinhead created by an electric arc (plasma arc). This results in a skin contraction phenomenon around these micropoints. The results obtained in 1 to 4 sessions (with an average of 2 to 3 sessions depending on the excess skin on the eyelid) are long-lasting and never alter the shape of the eye. The gaze becomes more open and brighter, and the skin appears smoother.
THE TECHNIQUE
The term PLEXR comes from the contraction of plasma excision. The technique consists of generating a quantity of energy that will allow for the sublimation of the treated surface. Sublimation refers to the transition from solid state (skin) to gas state. The excess treated skin will be eliminated and evaporated.

The PLEXR treatment works on the surface, without reflection and without transferring heat to the underlying tissues (no impact on the eyes). During the session, the applicator is positioned 1 mm from the skin, creating an electric arc that causes this tissue destruction.
There is no contact with the skin. Each PLEXR impact forms a crust, which leads to skin retraction during the healing process.
The impacts last no more than a second and are placed adjacent to one another in a staggered pattern. The treatment is performed on folds and excess skin. PLEXR allows for localized and precise treatment.
WHO IS IT FOR?
For patients who have a laxity of the upper eyelid and do not wish to undergo surgery.
As seen by one of our patients:
I tried Plexr a year ago.
I felt that I was starting to have droopy eyelids that made me look a bit sad, but I didn’t want to go under the knife. I found that this method, which was fairly painless, had given me a real refresh and a notably more open gaze. I recommend it without hesitation.
The session lasts 20 minutes and is relatively painless. You might feel some slight tingling, but only very mildly due to the application of a numbing cream.
You will leave with lots of tiny dark spots all along the eyelid, and it's best to avoid attending a gala that same evening. These little spots will turn into scabs (which will fall off by themselves after 7 days) that can easily be concealed with foundation.
The skin should be protected from the sun for about a month after the session. A second session can be scheduled a month later.

BY WHOM?
Plexr is a medical technique performed by the laser doctors at the centre.
View from the laser doctor: The PLEXR treatment works on the surface, without reflection and without heat transfer to the underlying tissues (no impact on the eyes). During the session, the applicator is positioned 1 mm from the skin, creating an electric arc that causes tissue destruction.

The pulses last no longer than one second and are positioned adjacent to each other in a staggered pattern. The treatment is performed on folds and excess skin. PLEXR allows for localized and precise treatment.
INDICATIONS
Drooping of the upper eyelid
PROTOCOL
Depending on the severity of the drooping eyelid, we recommend between 1 to 4 sessions. These sessions are spaced one and a half months apart.
If the eyelid is too droopy, we refer our patients to a plastic surgery service.

SESSION PROCEEDINGS
Skin preparation with EMLA anaesthetic cream 1 hour before the procedure
The session is carried out by a doctor
Application of a healing cream at the end of the treatment. To be continued at home
PRECAUTIONS
Complete avoidance of the sun 1 month before and 1 month after the treatment
Small crusts (which can be concealed with foundation) disappear within 3 to 7 days. There will be post-treatment swelling lasting about 3 days. Sunscreen is mandatory after the session.
RESULTS
Results can be seen from the first session, but it will take one to two months to observe the final results.
Sophie's opinion : I tried Plexr a year ago. I felt that my eyelids were starting to droop, giving me a somewhat sad appearance, but I didn't want to resort to surgery. I found this method, which is quite painless, had really refreshed my look and made my gaze more open. I would recommend it without hesitation. The session lasted 20 minutes and was fairly painless. You may feel a few slight tingles, but this is very mild thanks to the application of an anaesthetic cream an hour before my arrival at the Centre.
You leave with a number of small dark spots along the eyelid, and it’s advisable to avoid attending a gala evening on the same night. The spots will turn into crusts (which will fall off on their own after 7 days), in my case. I easily concealed them with a slightly covering foundation.
The little advice I retained : Your skin should be protected from the sun for around a month after the session. A second session can be scheduled a month later.
Honestly, I am quite apprehensive, and this alternative is perfect for me. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again, as I was completely satisfied. My eyes have reopened, and those around me haven't noticed anything, but regularly tell me that I have a rested face. Mission accomplished!
