The older we get, the more the first signs of skin ageing appear.

Fine lines emerge and a lack of hydration develops, along with a loss of firmness, leading to skin sagging. The collagen and elastin naturally present in the skin become increasingly rare. Eventually, the face becomes marked and begins to droop.

THE TECHNIQUE 

HIFU generates ultrasound on areas of sagging and creates a lifting effect that provides a preventive effect on the treated areas. HIFU ultrasound, through the warming of the treated zones, reduces subcutaneous fat deposits. At our centre, we use the HIFU LIS machine. 

FOR WHOM? 

The HIFU technology addresses sagging in areas that are difficult to treat with injections, as well as areas presenting unsightly fat deposits.

This technique employs a method of high-frequency focused ultrasound. HIFU acts deeply by creating anchors in the skin with the deeper layers.

It is suitable for patients aged between 30 and 65 who wish to tighten their tissues and especially to prevent the natural progression of skin ageing.

BY WHOM? 

HIFU sessions are carried out exclusively by laser physicians. Only expert doctors can understand the anatomy of a face and the evolution of the skin.

INDICATIONS 

Ultrasound can work on all areas that exhibit skin sagging. 
Thus, it is possible to treat:

• The facial oval
• The malar bags
• The arms
• The abdomen
• All other areas of skin sagging 
  
  

PROTOCOL

Regardless of the area treated by HIFU, 3 sessions must be systematically carried out at one-month intervals. 
A maintenance session every 6 months will always optimise the results of the initial treatments.

Our protocols are continuously updated based on the outcomes achieved in our centre and in all medical studies concerning HIFU.

SESSION PROCEDURE

The doctor collaborates with the patient to determine the areas to be treated.
These areas are marked with a white pencil, and the application of the HIFU device will follow the skin's traction lines. We then apply gel to enhance the conduction of the ultrasound. A slight discomfort may be felt with each ultrasound emission. The session lasts between 30 and 50 minutes, depending on the areas being treated.

PRECAUTIONS

Areas beneath which there are metal implants or barbed wires cannot be treated. Dental implants are not an issue. As with all aesthetic techniques, we do not treat pregnant women. 

RESULTS

The skin tightening results will become apparent over 3 to 6 months. This is the essential time needed for the skin to retract after the action of the ultrasound. Muscle retraction will also be observed. No social avoidance is necessary after the sessions.

Why did this technique appeal to me?

1 Because it is simply quick, and one can resume daily life immediately afterwards, even though I did experience some redness.

2 Because it is less restrictive than a facelift, during which you are excluded from your social life for 3 weeks.

3 Because it is promising, as surgery is no longer the only option to firm up a sagging jawline, and until now, no other medical technique had provided me with convincing results.

4 It is discreet.  There was no transformation of my appearance because, honestly, I was really afraid of becoming “transformed”. The centre truly reassured me.
