Micro-Needling Radiofrequency: Morpheus 8

The Morpheus 8 has won the award for innovation in aesthetic medicine among all machines in 2020 (kudos to the laboratory Inmode). Indeed, older radiofrequency machines did not have the advantage of being combined with microneedling. The Morpheus 8 directly delivers the desired energy to the desired depth. 

THE TECHNIQUE

The Morpheus 8 combines the radiofrequency and microneedling techniques.

The radiofrequency acts as an accelerator for skin renewal and toning through the stimulation of fibroblasts, and thus the production of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. 

The microneedling consists of micro needles that provide the advantage of directly delivering the desired energy to loose areas. The needles are so fine and small that you will hardly feel anything. 

Morpheus is the only technique that allows treatment of the skin at different depths to maximise results, all during the same session. This makes the procedure much less traumatic compared to other radiofrequency machines.  

In cases such as a double chin, the Morpheus 8 helps to reduce fat deposits through thermal melting and skin tightening. This is referred to as facial and body reshaping. 

WHO IS IT FOR?

For patients who exhibit sagging in certain areas of the body and face. Facial and body skin begins to lose its firmness around the age of 30, due to a decrease in collagen, hyaluronic acid, and elastin production. This is a completely natural phenomenon that can be exacerbated by lifestyle choices, smoking, alcohol, and also by pregnancies and fluctuations in weight. The Morpheus 8 is also effective for treating localized fat deposits such as a double chin.

The Morpheus will act both in a curative manner to treat sagging or fat deposits and in a preventative manner to help maintain beautiful skin quality. Indeed, from the age of 30, the skin loses its firmness due to a gradual cessation of collagen and hyaluronic acid synthesis.

The high technology of Morpheus allows it to work on all skin types (thin or thick skin, light or dark skin).

WHO ADMINISTERS IT?

At the Centre, all laser treatments are performed by qualified laser physicians.

The physician will conduct a thorough assessment during the initial consultation to determine the areas to be treated.

PROTOCOL

1 session per month for 4 sessions, followed by essential maintenance every 6 months. Naturally, this protocol can be adapted based on the patient's indications. An assessment with a physician will always be conducted before beginning treatment. 

SESSION PROCEDURE

It is recommended to apply a numbing cream 1 hour before the treatment, although this is not mandatory. The physician will then use a unique applicator for you.

Each impact will insert the micro needles (microneedling) under the skin, and the machine will deliver the necessary energy to stimulate collagen and elastin synthesis required for skin retraction. The energy delivered will be adjustable at any moment depending on the depth of treatment and the skin's reaction.

The advantage of Morpheus 8 is the absence of social downtime following the session. 

The session lasts between 20 and 30 minutes. 

At the end of the session, a slight redness or swelling on the skin may persist, but this will disappear within 2 to 12 hours.

PRECAUTIONS

Morpheus is one of the techniques that requires the least precautions possible. However, it is essential to avoid treating areas where metal plates are located. Pregnant women should not be treated.

It is crucial to protect your skin with a total sunscreen after Morpheus sessions.  

RESULTS

Morpheus 8 treats both skin retraction and prevention of sagging. Results can be seen from the first session. However, optimal results will be visible within 2 to 3 months.

Over time and with menopause, the lower part of my face has sagged. I gained 10 kilos in 10 years. I lost 5 kilos last year. My body and face did not accept this.

Thanks to my hairdresser's advice, I visited the Centre Esthétique Paris to seek a consultation and see if Morpheus 8 was recommended for me. 

At the end of my assessment, the doctor's diagnosis established that this technique was suitable for my face, and I began my first session a few days later. 

Honestly, I was amazed by this first session because, a few weeks later, I noticed that my lower cheeks were firmer and tighter. The same goes for my décolleté, which had been wrinkling more and more. By the end of the third session, I truly saw the difference. All little lines had diminished. A more re-densified and smoother oval. 

Today, I have completed my protocol of 5 sessions. Every 6 months, I have a maintenance session, which allows me to maintain my skin's tightening effect.

I wanted to share my experience because this technique has been incredible for me. I’d like to add that it's a good alternative when you cannot receive injections due to an autoimmune disease. A little tip: Apply the EMLA anaesthetic cream well for a virtually painless experience. For your information, I experienced slight redness for a few days, but it soon disappeared. This technique is amazing. I highly recommend it.
