Hyperhidrosis Miradry

THE TECHNIQUE

It involves destroying the sweat glands located superficially under the skin. The technique used is that of ultrasound.

The Miradry® thus acts on both sweating and the odours inherent to this phenomenon.

There is no danger to the elements surrounding the armpits (chest, lymph nodes, etc.).

The applicator on your armpits heats the sweat glands up to 60°C (the temperature required for the destruction of sweat glands without damaging the skin surface).

This technique has obtained the CE medical mark and is therefore approved by the FDA.

WHO IS IT FOR?

It is estimated that 1 in 5 people suffer from sweating. The body contains between 2 to 4 million sweat glands, and only 2% are located in the armpits. Their removal will not promote sweating elsewhere on the body. 

BY WHOM?

Sessions for the treatment of sweating are exclusively carried out by doctors.

• Men who wear shirts daily and are therefore bothered by stains as soon as they remove their jackets.

PROTOCOL

The sessions: In more than 80% of patients, a single session is sufficient; for the remaining 20%, a second session may be necessary.

Is it a safe technique? : We have over 5 years of hindsight on the technique. It is an American technique with FDA assurance.
Recent American studies report the following results: 82% reduction in sweating and thus a 90% satisfaction rate. The satisfaction rate has been evaluated at 2 years post-treatment. More than 40,000 treatments have been performed worldwide to date.

A fundamental question: Are these sweat glands essential for managing sweating?
Sweating occurs all over the body (including the scalp), with only 2% of sweating managed by the sweat glands in the armpits. Therefore, there is no risk of increasing sweating in other parts of the body.

PROCEDURE OF A SESSION

After undergoing a complimentary assessment by our doctors to determine if this technique is suitable for you, a protocol and estimate will be provided. 

ON THE DAY : 

The hair must be shaved 3 to 4 days prior to the session. It is important to know that while the sweat glands will be eliminated, approximately 70% of the hair will disappear following the Miradry® session. 

A local anaesthetic is administered before the application of ultrasound, making the treatment more comfortable.

The session lasts between 1 hour 15 minutes to 2 hours depending on the severity of sweating. Firstly, the session begins with the anaesthesia phase, and then an applicator will move across the entire length of the armpits, progressively destroying the glands responsible for hyperhidrosis.

No treatment is necessary following the procedure.

PRECAUTIONS

Adverse effects are extremely rare. There may be slight hypersensitivity and therefore local swelling (related to the anaesthetic which gradually dissipates).

RESULTS

Results are noticeable within the first weeks following treatment.
A significant reduction of 82% on average in armpit sweating and a 80 to 90% decrease in odour is observed.
