Aesthetic gynaecology: the rejuvenating and hydrating treatment!

Number of readers : 12804

Aesthetic gynaecology has been addressing gynaecological issues for several years now. While the use of hyaluronic acid on the face has demonstrated its hydrating and tissue-replenishing virtues, it has proven equally effective for its action within vaginal tissues. Long considered taboo, aesthetic gynaecology is now highly effective. At a time when gynaecological concerns affect more than one in six women, it has indeed become indispensable.

What is vaginal care?

Following childbirth, as menopause approaches, or over the years, dryness of the vaginal mucous membranes can occur: loss of elasticity and decreased trophicity. These phenomena can interfere with couple’s intimacy due to physical or psychological discomfort, irritation, and pain during sexual intercourse. It is at this moment that aesthetic gynaecology can come into play.

Several factors may lead you to seek this treatment, such as the need to rebalance intimate disorders, intimate dryness, vaginal discomfort, or chronic irritations. Gynaecology remains a sensitive area, which makes it challenging to discuss with a trusted person. The specialist must take the necessary time to understand your needs or the distress that troubles you.

What are the benefits of vaginal rejuvenation?

Injections of a specifically designed hyaluronic acid named Désirial are performed, offering various benefits. It restores volume to the labia majora, which helps to close and protect the vaginal opening and improve aesthetic appearance. It ensures local hydration of the skin and mucous membranes, stimulating collagen production to make the mucosa thicker and more resilient. Hyaluronic acid addresses sexual dysfunction related to weakening the “G spot”, also known as the “Grafenberg spot”. Finally, it treats scars in the intimate area (such as vaginal fissures or pain from episiotomy scars).

How does a session proceed?

After an initial consultation involving a gynaecological examination, the doctor will establish a treatment plan for the patient. The procedure will be performed under local anaesthesia with the patient sitting on the examination table in a gynaecological position.

As for the injections of hyaluronic acid, they are carried out at the vulvar level and at the entrance of the vagina using a very fine needle to deposit the product superficially just beneath the dermis or the mucosa to be rehydrated. Injections are administered on either side of the vulva using a cannula to restore volume to the labia majora. The procedure lasts about twenty minutes and is painless.

Are there precautions to take?

Precautions to take before injections in the intimate area of a woman include avoiding anticoagulants and aspirin a few days before the session, as well as using suppositories prescribed by the doctor.

After the treatment, you should avoid public humid places such as swimming pools, jacuzzis, or steam rooms for about ten days. You should also refrain from sexual intercourse for about a week and avoid activities that exert pressure on the treated area, such as cycling or horseback riding, in the following days post-treatment.

Don’t hesitate to consult a professional if you encounter intimate concerns. The subject is no longer a taboo, and nothing should prevent you from enjoying your intimate comfort every day!
