Micro-Needling Radiofrequency: Morpheus 8

The Morpheus 8 was awarded the prize for innovation in aesthetic medicine among all machines in 2020 (kudos to the Inmode laboratory). Indeed, older radiofrequency machines did not have the advantage of being coupled with microneedling. The Morpheus 8 delivers the desired energy directly to the desired depth. 

THE TECHNIQUE

The Morpheus 8 combines the technique of radiofrequency and microneedling.

The radiofrequency acts as an accelerator for skin renewal and tonification by stimulating fibroblasts and therefore the production of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. 

The microneedling consists of micro-needles that have the advantage of delivering the required energy directly to the lax areas. The needles are so fine and small that you will hardly feel anything. 

The Morpheus is the only technique that allows the treatment of skin at varying depths to maximise results during the same session. This makes the procedure significantly less traumatic than other radiofrequency machines.  

In indications such as the double chin, the Morpheus 8 helps to reduce fat deposits through thermal melting and skin tightening. This is referred to as reshaping of the face and body. 

FOR WHOM?

For patients who present with sagging in certain parts of the body and face. The skin on the face and body begins to lose its tonicity around the age of 30; this is due to a decrease in the production of collagen, hyaluronic acid, and elastin. This is a completely natural phenomenon which can be exacerbated by lifestyle, smoking, alcohol, as well as pregnancies and weight fluctuations. The Morpheus 8 is also used in the treatment of localised fat deposits such as double chins.

The Morpheus will act both curatively to treat sagging or fat deposits and preventively to maintain the quality of the skin. Indeed, from the age of 30, the skin loses some of its tonicity due to a gradual halt in the synthesis of collagen and hyaluronic acid.

The high technology of the Morpheus allows treatment on all skin types (thin or thick skin, light or dark skin).

BY WHOM?

At the Centre, all laser treatments are carried out by qualified laser doctors.

The doctor will conduct a comprehensive assessment during the initial consultation to determine the areas to be treated.

PROTOCOL

1 session per month for 4 sessions followed by essential maintenance every 6 months. Of course, this protocol can be adapted according to the patient's needs. An assessment with a doctor will always be carried out before the start of treatment. 

CONDUCT OF A SESSION

It is recommended to apply a numbing cream 1 hour before the treatment, but it is not obligatory. The doctor will then use a unique applicator for you.

Each impact will insert the micro-needles (microneedling) under the skin, and the machine will deliver the necessary energy to develop the synthesis of collagen and elastin required for skin retraction. The energy delivered will be adjustable at any time based on the working depth and the skin's reaction.

The advantage of the Morpheus 8 is the absence of social avoidance after the session. 

The session lasts between 20 and 30 minutes. 

At the end of the session, there may be slight redness or swelling on the skin, but this will disappear within 2 to 12 hours.

PRECAUTIONS

Morpheus is one of the techniques that requires the least precautions possible. However, it is important to avoid treating areas where there are metal plates beneath the skin. Pregnant women are not treated.

It is crucial to protect your skin with a full-spectrum sunscreen after Morpheus sessions.  

RESULTS

Morpheus 8 addresses both skin retraction and the prevention of sagging. Results can be seen from the very first session. However, optimal results will be observed over a period of 2 to 3 months.

Opinion of Nöelle: 

Over time and due to menopause, the lower part of my face has sagged. I gained 10 kilos over 10 years. I lost 5 kilos last year, but my body and face have not accepted this change.

Thanks to my hairdresser's advice, I went to the Centre Esthétique Paris for a consultation to see if Morpheus 8 would be recommended for me. 

Following my assessment, the doctor's diagnosis indicated that this technique was suitable for my face, and I began my first session a few days later. 

Honestly, I was blown away by this first session, as a few weeks later, I noticed that my lower cheeks were tighter and firmer. The same goes for my décolletage, which was developing more and more wrinkles. By the third session, I truly saw the difference. All the little lines had softened. A more re-densified, smoother oval.

Today, I have completed my protocol of 5 sessions. Every 6 months, I have a maintenance session, which helps me maintain the lifting effect on my skin.

I wanted to share my experience because this technique has been incredible for me. I would add that it’s a good alternative when you cannot have injections due to an autoimmune disease. One little tip: Apply the EMLA numbing cream well for a nearly pain-free experience. For your information, I had slight redness for a few days, but it disappeared quickly. This technique is amazing. I highly recommend it.
