Hollow cheeks: three treatments to enhance them!

Number of readers : 120671

Droopy cheeks are part of the signs of aging. The skin loses its firmness and features become less smooth. This lack of tone can represent an aesthetic discomfort and may add a few years to your appearance. The aim is to provide you with a true thirst for youth and to firm up the lines of your face.

What are droopy cheeks ?

Skin sagging is a natural phenomenon. Over the years, certain cells that contribute to the beauty and health of your skin lose their effectiveness. Elastin and collagen are two proteins responsible for the skin's elasticity. They are produced by fibroblasts. However, over time, the presence of these cells decreases in the body, and their activity diminishes.

Droopy cheeks primarily suggest sagging skin. Generally, it is advisable to adopt a good lifestyle, engage in facial massages, and utilise appropriate treatments. Some individuals perform circular massages or exercises to puff up the cheeks and strengthen this area. Certain cosmetic treatments can help lift them. Of course, a healthy lifestyle will be ideal to support your rejuvenation efforts.

Why opt for HIFU, Morpheus or Legacy radiofrequency treatments ?

HIFU

The HIFU treatment promotes the firmness of the facial skin. Focused ultrasound against facial skin sagging (HIFU) acts on all layers of the skin: muscles or fat depending on the areas, deep dermis, and epidermis. As a result, the skin's fibroblasts will produce more collagen, restoring firmness and tone. This method can also target the hypodermis, that is, the fat around the double chin or larger jowls.

After applying an ultrasound gel, the doctor draws clearly defined lines for the ultrasound to penetrate the skin effectively. The nearly painless session (with some tingling) will reshape the face's contour. The protocol involves 3 sessions spaced one month apart, followed by a session every 6 months. The HIFU treatment is recommended in cases of sagging in the cheeks or malar bags (around the cheekbones). While results are visible from the first session, they will continue to improve over time. The lifting effect intensifies, and fat cells are permanently destroyed.

The Morpheus

The  Morpheus is the latest technology in radiofrequency combined with microneedling (tiny needles that will deliver this stimulating current directly to the targeted area). This treatment remodels the skin at all levels, as the penetration of the microneedles can be controlled. It is employed on various areas, such as sagging facial skin (contours, double chin, droopy cheeks…).
This technique produces a tightening effect that fractionally reshapes the face and body. The radiofrequency enables deep action, thus promoting skin firmness. Morpheus is an interesting alternative for those wishing for an in-depth treatment without being invasive.

Legacy Radiofrequency

Radiofrequency is a highly effective technique for reducing sagging skin on the face, cheeks, neck, décolletage, as well as certain areas of the body (thighs, belly, arms). Indeed, this method firms the skin by stimulating collagen growth and production in the dermis over the long term while also tightening these collagen fibres. The skin becomes more toned.

To do this, circular movements are performed with a handheld device after applying a layer of glycerin to the skin area being treated. The skin tissues are then heated to encourage collagen production. Painless, the radiofrequency session has no particular side effects. On the contrary, the sensation of warmth makes the treatment very pleasant. While results are often visible from the first session, they improve progressively. It is advisable to undergo maintenance treatments to sustain the results achieved.
