What is rosacea ?

Rosacea can affect all skin types, but fair-skinned women are particularly susceptible. Men are not spared either and may even develop rhinophyma, a form of rosacea characterised by a red and swollen nose resulting from untreated rosacea. Certain factors can trigger flare-ups and exacerbate the symptoms of the condition, such as temperature, prolonged sun exposure, emotions, stress, alcohol, or hot beverages.

Rosacea primarily impacts the central part of the face and develops over time. While each stage of development corresponds to specific symptoms, many individuals only develop the initial vascular form. This manifests as persistent redness on the cheeks, nose, centre of the forehead, and chin. Flushing may occur, causing the entire face to become reddened.

It is recommended to establish a gentle and tailored skincare routine. This involves cleansing the skin to remove impurities and excess sebum. An antioxidant serum can help target free radicals, particularly concerning blackheads and other blemishes. Sun protection will be paramount to prevent the onset of rosacea.

Why choose the V Beam vascular laser ?

The V Beam vascular laser destroys blood vessels in the dermis and eliminates all unsightly lesions (telangiectasias, rosacea, varicosities, stretch marks…). It is particularly effective for very fair skin. The skin regains its radiance, and all imperfections vanish. Generally, the appearance of most redness significantly improves within two to six weeks following treatment. With time, some redness may become visible again; in such cases, they can be treated similarly. This treatment requires 1 to 2 sessions spaced six weeks apart, with progressive results during the treatment period.

The V Beam vascular laser works by producing a laser light pulse that targets the area being treated without harming the surrounding tissues. Skin redness may appear but will fully fade a few hours after the session with the application of a moisturising cream. The V Beam laser necessitates the wearing of goggles to protect the eyes from the light. The practitioner then sweeps the targeted area with a handheld device that emits a laser beam. Exposure to sunlight in the treated areas is prohibited for approximately fifteen days following the session. After the treatment, a bluish discolouration may immediately appear at the site of each targeted impact. This will turn red and then quickly disappear. Treatments for the treated areas using thermal water and soothing cream will be prescribed for 5 to 6 days.

If the traces of rosacea make you self-conscious, consider this effective treatment to eliminate all unpleasant lesions.
